2nd Annual Aboriginal Day of Wellness – Bigger and Better Than Ever

dayofwellness-2014-w

The FNHA is pleased to announce the second annual Aboriginal Day of Wellness Grants. As your health and wellness partner the FNHA is providing small strategic investments today in support of our motto “Health through wellness.” This second annual funding call represents the FNHA’s growing capacity to support wellness related initiatives in First Nations and Aboriginal communities. Our goal is to have every First Nations and Aboriginal person in BC connecting with their active spirit on National Aboriginal Day.

Grant Eligibility
Organizations and agencies engaged in direct health service delivery to BC First Nations and/or Aboriginal people (not including federal or provincial governments) may be eligible for funding to host a run, walk, or traditional activity. To be eligible the event must be held on June 21, 2014 or within seven days (either side) of this event.
Grants this year will be awarded differently from 2013. For each region there will be one Category 1 grant available, up to three Category 2 grants and multiple Category 3 grants awarded (further information about categories can be seen on pg. 5 of the application). Funding preference and special consideration will be given to:
· BC First Nations community based applications (single or multiple)
· Applications where collaboration or partnership with other communities is possible and demonstrated at the regional, or sub-regional level (3 or more communities)
· Fairness and equity within and across the regions
· Host organizations that can involve higher numbers of participants (urban setting)

Closing deadline: April 9th, 2014
