The Interior Region
The Interior Region team works in partnership with the 7 Nations—Secwépemc, northern St’át’imc, Tŝilhqot’in, Ktunaxa, Dãkelh Dene, Nlaka’pamux and syilx—and their 54 communities to support the implementation of community-driven, Nation-based health care services.
Grounded in Nation direction, engagement with communities is the foundation of our work and traditional wellness approaches inform all activities. Governance, operations and service delivery are guided by relationships, community realities and the understanding that all of us are here to serve the people, not the system.
Regional health priorities and services are culturally safe and trauma-informed— essential for service delivery in the context of First Nations wellbeing.
