The Northern region
The Northern Region is home to 62 First Nations communities, and 30 per cent of all First Nations people in BC. The region has three sub-regions: Northeast, North Central and Northwest.
First Nations communities in the Northern Region guide their health and wellness priorities through a regional governance structure that brings together leadership, Health Directors and communities. This ensures decisions reflect local priorities and are grounded in the history and culture of each Nation.
FNHA supports the planning and delivery of services, with a focus on culturally safe care and wholistic wellness, addressing mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health.
