The First Nations Health Authority Environmental Contaminants Program (ECP) is now accepting Environmental Contaminants Research Proposals for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

The First Nations Health Authority: Environmental Contaminants Program (ECP) supports First Nations projects that explore the link between human health and environmental contaminants. The Program encourages community-based study of environmental health issues through the integration of Indigenous ways of knowing, traditional Knowledge, and empirical science. It recognizes that wellness is influence by the environmental, social, cultural, and economic determinants of health, and that Nations, Family, Community and Land are all critical components of our health experience as human beings.

The ECP Guidelines for Proposals booklet provides tools and information regarding the proposal development and application process. Hardcopies of the Guideline for Proposals will be mailed to First Nations communities in the new year.

The deadline for proposals is 12:00 midnight, Friday, February 28th, 2014

Proposal selection results will be concluded in March 2014.
