In support of Northern First Nations Health & Wellness, the Northern Regional FNHA office is pleased to announce 2016/2017 First Nations Health Fair Grants through the Northern Regional Funding Envelope to assist communities in achieving Healthy, Self-Determining and Vibrant First Nation Children, Families and Communities.
Contact your Community Engagement Coordinator for assistance in accessing funds for your community’s Health Fair.
Grant Criteria
1. The funding grant will be a maximum of $500.00 for each community, per year. For joint Health Fairs of more than one (1) community, an approval is required through community health leads to confirm participation. Each community will contribute to the joint Health Fair through their grant.
2. Grants can be used for the following expenditures:
• Food
• Supplies
• Door Prizes
• Health & Traditional Wellness Activities/Challenges
• Elder’s Blessings
• Guest Speaker or Workshop Facilitator Fee
3. Please note that aspects and themes of the Health Fair activities/workshops should align with our Northern Regional priorities areas of Mental Health, Primary Care and Traditional Wellness.
4. In addition, we ask that space be available for FNHA Staff to host a booth/table to share health information.
5. All communities that receive funding will be required to complete and submit an activity report that includes but not limited to photos, brief summary of activities and best practices, within 30 days of the event. Previous Health Fair Grant recipients must have submitted an activity report in order to be considered eligible.
6. To access the grant, complete and submit the attached "2016/2017 First Nations Health Fair Grant Application" in order for a grant contribution to be authorized.
7. Community Engagement Coordinators can submit completed applications to the Regional Project Developer by email or fax.
