As Canada Post may be in a position to strike as early as July 2, 2016, the FNHA would like to advise clients and partners of potential impacts to operations.
First Nations Health Benefits would like to advise that couriers can be utilized to send documents to Health Canada, Express Scripts, HIBC or any other partners if and when required. Fax can be used to transmit information when original receipts are not required. Exceptions may be made in urgent circumstances, with the requirement of receipts being provided when the strike is over.
Direct deposits can be made for payments from FNHA Finance and Express Scripts where possible. We encourage providers to sign up for direct deposit if possible. Client Reimbursements requiring original receipts may need to be put on hold until original receipts can be received in the mail after the strike. Clients may also be given the option to drop off their reimbursement and pick up their cheque in person. Appeal decision letters could be faxed where possible to ensure all decisions are communicated in a timely manner. Phone calls will also be made to clients with follow up by letter when the strike is over.
