The First Nations Health Authority is pleased to announce that we are now accepting proposals from First Nations organizations and communities to deliver health and cultural support services. This initiative aims to enhance and expand services across the province to better support youth, families, and communities in alignment with the Child Welfare and Jordans Principle Settlement Agreement.
To ensure that services are culturally appropriate and grounded in the lived experiences and knowledge of First Nations communities, this call for proposals will only be open to First Nations organizations employing First Nations service providers across the province.
To ensure accessibility and inclusivity, proposals may aim to address multiple geographical areas:
- Local community or communities
- Sub-regional or regional
- Province-wide
This initiative focuses on creating and expanding services that are:
- Culturally safe and grounded in First Nations traditions, values, and practices.
- Delivered at multi-community, region-wide, or province-wide levels to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
- Specifically designed to provide comprehensive support for youth and families navigating complex challenges, including those related to the Child Welfare and Jordan's Principle Settlement Agreement.
What we are looking for:
First Nations and First Nations not-for-profit organizations with proven experience in delivering:
- Health and cultural supports that focus on providing services across multiple communities or regions, with capacity and access to culturally relevant supports.
- Current Contribution Agreement (CA) holders in good financial and reporting standing.
- Health and wellness support organizations that are culturally grounded and can provide services for First Nations communities.
- Navigation and aftercare services for youth and families.
Timeline:
- Proposal Deadline: Feb. 15, 2025
- Anticipated Start Date: March 17, 2025
