The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) has a new funding opportunity for communities participating in the Aboriginal Head Start On-Reserve (AHSOR) program.
In recognition of the importance and increasing incorporation of land-based and outdoor programming, the Land Based Project will provide funding for communities to develop new and existing outdoor early learning and play spaces on AHSOR sites. All AHSOR-funded or AHSOR-Collaborative communities are eligible for this funding project.
Outdoor play shows significant benefits to health and early childhood development, and land-based cultural programming promotes a healthy sense of cultural identity and mental wellness. This funding will increase opportunities for participating communities to incorporate outdoor and land-based programming into their Head Start programs.
Find more details about the project, see the AHSOR page on FNHA.CA. On this page you’ll find the project application form, a sample completed application and a webinar about the project.
The application form includes instructions for completing the application and an application checklist.
The deadline for applications is January 29, 2021 at 4 p.m.
