The First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) is pleased to present the 2023/2024 Annual Report, highlighting progress under the Paddling Together: Multi-Year Health Plan.
This year marks a significant milestone – 10 years since Health Canada's First Nations Inuit Health Branch BC Region health services were transferred to the FNHA. Several transitions in leadership have taken place. We celebrate Colleen Erickson's retirement as Board Chair, honouring her pivotal role in advancing FNHA's mission. We welcome Dr. Sheila Blackstock as the new Board Chair, bringing over 36 years of experience and a longstanding commitment to First Nations health and wellness. Additionally, we remember and honour Chief Tłakwagila (Bill Cranmer), FNHA's Vancouver Island Board Knowledge Keeper, whose leadership continues to inspire self-determination in First Nations health care.
