PURPOSE & SCOPE
The purpose of this policy is to establish principles and guidance to ensure respectful engagement from all individuals accessing and using official FNHA social media channels. This policy is supported by the 7 Directives and Shared Values.
PRINCIPLES
FNHA welcomes respectful participation and engagement from individuals accessing and using office FNHA social media channels and believes that you should be protected from misinformation, harmful advice, hateful or obscene content, advice that is not evidence-based and/or spam.
FNHA in its sole discretion reserves the right to edit posts for clarification, and/or remove comments that fall under the following categories:
- Medical advice
- The FNHA does not provide medical advice through any social media accounts.
- Personal information
- Public comments that contain personal information, including but not limited to contact details, employment or health information.
- Content that contains profanity or is discriminatory, hateful, defamatory, racist, sexist or obscene.
- Content that violates or unfairly invades anyone's privacy, including FNHA employees and patients.
- Content that includes personal attacks that go beyond respectful discussion.
- Content that impersonates anyone.
- Comments promoting or opposing any person campaigning for election to a political office.
- Content that spreads misinformation, disproven medical claims or harmful advice.
- Content that constitutes spam or promotes services or products not approved by FNHA.
- Content that is completely off-topic or disrupts the conversation.
- Comments that promote illegal activities or share content that violates intellectual property rights, including copyrights and/or trademarks.
- Repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated by single or multiple users.
- Comments that contains excessive links or code.
- Content that encourages criminal behaviour or gives rise to civil liability, or otherwise violates laws, regulations or treaties.
- Content that is contrary to the principles of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
- Content that is culturally unsafe, including those that disrespect, misrepresent, or harm First Nations, Metis or Inuit cultures, traditions or identities.
FNHA Social Media Moderatoin Policy
Users who violate the above conditions in any way will have their comments deleted by FNHA moderators. Users who repeatedly and/or purposefully post comments that violate the above conditions may be permanently blocked from commenting or accessing FNHA social media channels.
By posting on FNHA's social media channels, you agree to follow this policy, which may be updated or modified at any time.
Retweets & likes by FNHA
- Retweets, likes, and other engagements by the FNHA on its social media channels is not and does not imply endorsement.

- FNHA social media channels are monitored between the hours of 9:00 a.m. (PST) – 5:00 p.m. (PST) Monday- Friday apart from statutory holidays. Please allow up to one business day for a response.
