In October, Big Brother Canada actor and CFNR radio personality Kiefer Collison and the FNHA teamed up to promote vaccination acceptance and uptake among Indigenous people in BC. During that month everybody who shared a photo and reason for getting vaccinated at fnha.ca/vaxchamp automatically received a “Just a Kid from the Rez" hat and were entered into the draw for a $500 Visa gift card.
Hundreds of people shared their photos, and 372 people received a hat, with Reneé Morven from Prince Rupert winning the $500 Visa gift card grand prize.
Building on the success of October's campaign, Kiefer is back for November with a new contest and more giveaways. It's simple to enter. Just get your COVID-19 vaccine(s) and head over to fnha.ca/vaxchamp to share a photo and your reason for getting vaccinated. Each week, five people will be selected at random to win a “Just a kid from the Rez" hoodie.
Although November's contest is only open to new VaxChamps who didn't enter October's contest, sharing is caring, so let everybody know about the opportunity.
“October went amazing, the response was incredible," said Kiefer in his latest TikTok video. “So tell your cousins, tell your aunties and definitely tell your uncles! Because we want you to be a VaxChamp with us."

As of Oct. 30, 2021, over 78 per cent of all First Nations people in BC have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, but just over 68 per cent have had both doses. Both doses are needed to get the maximum protection from COVID-19. Be sure to get your booster dose when it becomes available!
