The FNHA is
hosting the 30x30 Active Challenge where Indigenous people throughout BC are
invited to commit to the goal of doing 30 minutes of physical activity for each
of the 30 days of September. It’s not too late to join! In fact, it’s never too
late to commit to the goal of being physically active on a regular basis. Sign
up now at https://fnha.wishpondpages.com/30x30-active-challenge/
The Challenge
kicked off with a personal
invitation from Dr. Evan Adams, the FNHA’s Chief Medical Officer.
Last month, FNHA
doctors Kelsey Louie and Nel Wieman started the registration momentum for the
Challenge with a series of tips
for getting started, staying motivated and keeping safe when
embarking on a new physical activity routine.
This week, one of
the FNHA’s Elder Advisors and Knowledge Keepers - Te’ta-in Shane Pointe –
reminded us of the connection
between physicality and spirituality from a First Nations
perspective.
We will continue to offer stories and
information to help inspire you to be physically active – and we encourage
participants to share their stories on social media using our hash tags #FNHAWellness; #30x30ActiveChallengeFNHA or #BeActiveFNHA or tag the FNHA social media accounts.
