We want to see you in your homemade/handmade masks! Wearing a mask during the pandemic is not mandatory in BC, but doing so can be helpful. Wearing a mask – while also following public health recommendations such as frequent handwashing – is recommended in situations where physical distancing may not be possible, like on public transit.

We've noticed many Indigenous people wearing masks with style and flare, incorporating First Nations designs and traditional techniques like beadwork. Some of us have made our own masks, while others have ordered handmade masks from small Indigenous businesses.

We want to see you in your mask! Show us your creative mask style by posting your photo with the hashtag: #GoodMedicineFNHA

Medical face masks should be reserved for health care workers, first responders and others providing direct care to COVID-19 patients.

You should continue to practise physical distancing and frequent handwashing even if you choose to wear a mask.
